Obituary of Eleanor Margaret Chidiac

Eleanor Margaret Chidiac, age 94, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2015. Ms. Chidiac was born January 31, 1920 in Paterson, the daughter of the late Naim and the late Amina (Bostory) Chidiac. She lived in Woodland Park. Ms. Chidiac was retired from Curtiss Wright in Wood Ridge, in 1978 where she was a drafting checker and a member of UAWCIO Local #600. She was an avid reader and found peace watching the Eternal Word Television Network. Ms. Chidiac was a member of St. Bonaventure R.C. Church, Paterson and a former choir member and soloist of Sacred Heart Armenian Catholic Church, Paterson. Ms. Chidiac is survived by her loving sisters Mary Iozzio and Janet Chidiac, her brothers John, Bernard "Buddy" and Norman (and their wives Elsbeth, Shelia and Maria); her dear Godchildren, nephews John Iozzio and Norman Chidiac, and niece Amina (Chidiac) Roderick; nieces and nephews Frank Iozzio, Mary Jo Iozzio, Mary Claire (Loffredo) Hanson, Margaret (Loffredo) Vigorito, Jeanne (Loffredo) Cutrona, Eileen Loffredo, Cathy (Loffredo) Hinsch, Donna (Loffredo) Zielinski, Barbara Ann Chidiac, Peter Chidiac, Gerald Chidiac, Mark Chidiac, Michael Chidiac, Lisa (Chidiac) Hauser, John Chidiac and James Chidiac; and 36 great nieces and nephews. Being the oldest grandchild of Salim and Mageda Chidiac, she was much adored and loved by her surviving cousins as the leader of the "Clan". She was predeceased by her brother Anthony, her sister Pearl Loffredo and her nephew Norman Iozzio. The family appreciates the loving service provided by Tracy and Frances of Compassionate Care and aides, Julia, Laidy, Wendy, Loida and Perla. Visiting hours will be Friday, January 23, 2015 from 3-7 p.m. The funeral will be Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home and Mass at 10:15 a.m. at St. Bonaventure R.C. Church, Ramsey St. and Danforth Ave., Paterson and will be celebrated by Fr. Stephen DeWitt, OFM. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa.
