Biography
Marianne B. (Unseld) Shannon, age 81, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2012 after a short illness. A long time resident of Wayne, she resided most recently at Arden Courts in Wayne, NJ. Mrs. Shannon was a graduate of Berkeley Secretarial School. Marianne, whose nickname was Barbara, worked as an Administrative Assistant in various companies before retiring.
She had a great sense of humor and conversation with her was a pleasure. She lived an active and exciting life enjoying travel with her husband and working in exotic locales like Saudi Arabia. She and her husband enjoyed relaxing at their home at the Jersey shore. Her home was filled with books, art and collectibles that were a delight.
Marianne was cherished by her three nieces of her late husband Max: Meghan Shannon, Priscilla A. Shannon and Patricia A. Blais. She is also survived by Maryann Lewis, the dear daughter of her late husband. She will be dearly missed by her friend and companion of recent years, Michele Cestaro. She was predeceased by her husband, Max Earl Shannon, her parents: William M. and Vlasta Unseld and her faithful dog, Fifi.
Visiting hours will be Monday from 1-3p.m.
The funeral service will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. will be celebrated by Rev. Michael McKay.
