Doris (Egbert) de Waal Malefyt, age 84, died Thursday, March 4, 2010 at home in Lake Hopatcong. Mrs. de Waal Malefyt was born October 16, 1925 in Paterson, the daughter of the late Harry and the late Edith (Glass) Egbert. She lived in Lake Hopatcong and was formerly of Paterson and Ocala, FL. Mrs. de Waal Malefyt was a homemaker and a foster mother for over 40 years. She was a former member of the Union Ave. Baptist Church in Paterson.
Mrs. de Waal Malefyt is survived by her loving children Edith and her husband Chuck Demos, Harry and his wife Dorothy Van Natta and George R. Van Natta; her devoted grandchildren Susan, Harry, Jeffrey, Kevin, Timothy and Meredith and her cherished great-grandchildren, Stacey, Matthew, Michael, Alden and Olivia. She was predeceased by her husband, John.
Visiting hours will be Friday from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m.
The funeral will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa.
